Corniglia, is the central town of the Cinque Terre, the only village not in contact with the sea and which stands on a rocky promontory about one hundred meters high, in a basin intensively cultivated with vineyards.
From the station it can be reached via the Via Lardarina, which leads to a long staircase of 22 flights and 377 steps. The alternative is to take the paved road for about a kilometer, also traveled by a shuttle that leads to the main square.
Starting from the main square, you can reach the church of San Piero, dating back to the fourteenth century. Alternatively, it will be possible to walk the streets of the center, which recall the charm of the territory. At a certain point, it will be interesting to deviate towards the Oratory of the Disciplinati di San Caterina, where it will be possible to see a beautiful view of the sea.
Corniglia is located between Manarola and Vernazza, two authentic jewels of the Cinque Terre. It will be possible to reach them along the Sentiero Azzurro, via Corniglia-Manarola or Corniglia Vernazza routes of 2.8 and 3.5 kilometers respectively.
A third path, on the other hand, leads to the nearby town of Volastra, outside the Cinque Terre area. At the beginning of the path you can see Corniglia in the distance with the sea behind.
